Epsom Salt Sitz Bath

Epsom salt is a crystallized form of magnesium and sulfate, two naturally occurring minerals. Adding this to a sitz bath makes it an effective remedy to heal wounds and infections. While it doesn’t cure the infection, Epsom salt can be used to draw out the infection and soften the skin to help boost medication effects. You may add 2 cups of Epsom salt to the warm water.

Epsom Salt Baths also helps during Pregnancy.

Epsom salt baths during pregnancy helps relieve sore muscles and back pain. Treat leg cramps,  soothe stretching skin. It also helps with digestion and reduces stress.

Mix about 2 cups of Epsom salt into a warm bath and soak for about 12 to 15 minutes. Be sure to keep the water temperature comfortable. Raising your body temperature by soaking in a hot tub is dangerous for your baby-to-be. Very hot bath water should be avoided during pregnancy.

Where to buy Epsom salt

Epsom salt is available at local drug stores and on Amazon. You’ll find a variety of brands and prices. There’s no real difference between any of them. But during pregnancy, stick to straight Epsom salt.
